We occasionally warm a pie or a pasty up in ours, but never yet actually cooked anything in it

We always use our oven in the van. We are rather partial to the meal deals at tesco and M&S. Great eating in the van, anyone for Steak Au Poivre?
Yes I must admit Ive used these too! Especially useful on the Friday night, after the manic dash from work, the drive to the site, setting up (in the dark in autumn winter!) its lovely to have your first drink of the weekend with the smell of something yummy wafting out of the oven with the minimum effort on my part. If its just me and OH for a weekend getaway, we have one of those the first night and a nice meal out somewhere on the Saturday night.

We specifically bought our van without an oven even though it had the option. We agreed that it would take up a large amount of space and not be used very often, and it's proved to be the right decision for us. I guess it depends how you use your van but if you've come from a trailer tent like we did, you're used to not having one anyway. We use a Remoska from Lakeland, fantastic little table top cooker from Czech that copes with all the cooking we want to do in conjunction with a 3-ring hob.
Hear, hear to the Remoska, we are away at the moment & have just eaten a roast chicken dinner courtesy of our Remoska & hob!

I use the oven in the van loads! We always take those part bake baguettes away with us but I've done a lot of other stuff in there as well. I find it needs a higher temperature than at home and takes a bit longer but otherwise is OK.
I use the microwave at least twice a day as well and would find it difficult to cope without it.

As campers we only have two rings & a rather poor grill but we do use a Ramoska which you can use to cook roast dinners, cakes etc in. It is very efficient & will allow other electrical uses.

Now I'll have to google a `Ramoska'. Swmbo has never heard of them either...
We use our oven in the caravan occasionally, but could easily get by without it. Lack of an oven wouldn't have put us off a caravan but it's nice to have the option. When we're camping we're pretty minimalisitc anyway & never missed an oven yet.

Confused - you bought the van without an oven and think it was the right decision but then went out and bought...a portable oven! Surely getting the van without the oven was thus the wrong decision? . You're not saving much space (if any) because you've got the Remoska to cart around...presumably it needs it's own gas bottle as well, so less space saved and more cost....(sorry, not trying to be rude, just being picky ).
We use our quite a lot and find it works very well...I would have thought that, for re-sale, it would always be better to have one installed. A new owner can always decide not to use it but may be put off if it wasn't there at all (I know I would be)...

I intend to use what I generally use at home to cook. Non EHU Ill use a gas ring or 2. EHU I may invest in a small low wattage microwave oven. I rarely use my oven or grill at home so certainly no use for them whilst away.
