HI. Can anybody help me. I have a Swift Lynmere 2 Berth 2005 and I am led to believe that this is based on a Swift Charisma 220 - It has the end kitchen (though I have been told it was also based on the slightly larger 230). Anyway, if I based my measurements from several different web sources on the Charisma 220 it states that I need an awning of size 840. My question is: would an awning sized 875 to 899 be too big? Any ideas on what my Caravan is based on, correct measurements and will the awning be too big would be gratefully received.

Why not just measure it yourself, then you will know exactly how long it is? Use a piece of string from the ground below one end of the rail, through the rail, and down to the ground the other end.

Sorry - Just read post from roger2639 (still on the front page of this forum) and it appears from the answers that it would not fit properly to avoid flapping in the wind, pooling rain water on top and generally just not a great idea. Does anybody know what the tolerances are? Is it only several cm's difference that would be OK.

Still would like anybodys thoughts on the sizing of the awning on my Caravan. (I know this appears lazy as I should really just carry out the string measurement ground to ground but my Caravan is currently in storage appx 45 mins away and I have to arrange an appt etc etc - Oh to have a driveway big enough)

On the Isabella web site is a sizing chart which comes up with the following :

The 3 numbers are Height, A-Measurement and Isabella Awning size.

Swift Charisma 220 2005    245 850  850

Swift Charisma 230 2005    240 900  900

On an advert on Caravan Selecta it says it's a 230 - so 900 then !?

Isabella size 900 covers sizes 876 to 900 ! So you will probably be ok. BUT don't rely on this on it's own. Measuring the caravan as advised above is your best bet !

Hi shirl250 - Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this for me. Funny thing is that the Caravan Selecta advert is the one for my Caravan - That is where I bought it from - the only problem is that since, I have re-contacted the dealer who is now NOT sure if it is actually based on a 220?

I think, as you suggest, the only way to be sure is to measure it properly - I suppose I will just have to wait until I next take it out (which is when I wanted to turn up with the new awning for it - Its Catch 22 really)

Oops ! Sorry about that. As you say, you can't do anything until you know the correct size !

We've just (last weekend) bought a 2nd hand Isabella awning and have been immersed in awning sizes for a while hence the interest !

Good Luck anyway.

I think that is the way forward - They do appear excellently made - Plus buying 2nd hand is obviously the best way of doing it as brand-new they are crazy money.
