By the way before you read this im not a numtie but,i have tried everything possible to fix my cassette full warning light.Ive changed batts, checked wires etc,no joy.I was thinking a sensor maybe.By the way how does the little sensors know its full as there is nothing inside the holding tank or should there be ????
Sorry I know that this probably won't help much but somewhere at the back my grey matter I seem to remember in a caravan magazine an article on repairing the float sensor in the toilet cassette, which if I remember is a magnet of some sort. I knew that I should have kept the article

There should be a float sensor. Open the valve and look in and it should be somewhere near where that opening is. It is white (well mine is). If you don't have a wobbly thing inside your cassette then maybe you don't have the sensor which lights up your loo. They can get knocked off with vigorous shaking of the cassette when you clean it.

Should be easy to spot. I can look inside mine without a mirror to see it. Its tough when you're wobbly thing has gone

How old is the va? If fairly recent the waste tank will have a circular section on top which you can turn (anti clockwise if I remember). The float and magnets are on the underside of that section.
I think the light is supposed to work when the float raises with the level. The magnet attached to the float activates a 'switch' which is positioned on the side wall of the waste tank housing, not the waste tank itself. Sounds like the magnet has fallen off (excessive shaking about of the waste tank when emptying?) or the switch is u/s.
Our light hasn't worked for quite some time and OH has had a feel around for the float - yes it is there and appears to be in position. On our last trip away it came on - we were amazed! The holding tank, however, was very, very full. Much fuller than we would normally let it be before emptying it. We have now concluded that it does work but that if it comes on there's probably not much space left so don't use it!!
As an alternative, open the loo and put your hand down...if it comes above the wrist its time to empty........

If your not sure what is inside or should be inside , then, if you have a local Caravan shop maybe pop in and look at any loo cassette like yours.....
