Greetings, just got back from a weeks caravaning in an amazing place in Dorset, site was lovely etc, but what wound me up was after 4 days of a tent set up on a pitch, their holiday was over and they left, we come back from a day out to see a caravan hooked up on the pitch, I had walked passed them as they was finishing putting the awning up on the way to the showers, when I came back, they had decided to block up the main route to the toilet block with two wind breaks and the gap that they couldnt cover they put a bench and seats across. Now this was a huge gap, it was shown to me by the warden as the path to use and no doubt everyone of our neighbours as it meant a lengthy detour to get round. Bearing in mind they had a big pitch in order to set up some privacy. Although when we awoke I think someone wasnt aware of the blockade as it got really dark and must have stumbled into it. Didn't have a chance to have a chat with the people in the van as we left the next day, now I use windbreaks, mainly doing what it says on the tin and never in this instance of recreating the new Great wall of Dorset. Never seen this before, anyone else?

Were you at "The Inside Park" by any chance?? We had this last week the family opposite had car, caravan huge awning with 2 annexes, 2 pup tents. 4 dogs tied up outside most of the time, a huge hexagon shaped gazebo all fenced in with a least 5 windbreaks. The pitches are unmarked at the inside park so they were encroaching on at least 2 other pitches and ours to the front. We couldn' get our car anywhere near our pitch! Put us off won't be going there again despite the wonderful reviews.

Another tent had its neighbours toilet tent right outside his door I

They are how I know I am in the UK. They seem to manage without them in Europe.

I have always been one of the 'anti-windbreak' group, but I am now beginning to soften.  We have never had a major problem with others crossing/encroaching upon our pitch - if everthe problem became major, I would be down at the beach shop.  However, I am now beginning to wonder if windbreaks might act as an anti-ball barrier.

I would have told the wardens if I couldn't get my car near, and as for the TTent, well!, again, a word with the wardens. BTW, no wind breaks for me.

Meant to add, ppl like the above should be charged for a double pitch.

It was Inside Park Caroline, amazing site, really pleased with it, just the odd numpty who takes the p*ss out of the relaxed pitch arrangements, think I explained it very bad in the beginning, we was in a kind of cul de sac, not an open field, only a few people needed to use the route needed, was a vehicle outlet 2 days before, completely housed in by trees, so it was this way or a 10 minute detour. Wasnt a rant at windbreak users at all, just couldnt see why he justified the barricade needed.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it. But even some days it doesn't feel like its worth chewing through the leather straps

I have just got back from a week at verwood forest c&cc site. put me right next to the water& bins. so we had lots of people walking past warden on his tractor every morning to empty the bins.and it never bothered me. your on your hols relax dont worry about what others are doing or who may look thro your window.lets be honest we all look at other peoples outfits when we walk ,drive around the sites.if theres a serious prob, breach of the rules speak to the site manager to sort dont wind yourselves up.
