So, what is the deal with a hitch cover. We have never had one but everyone else seems to have one and always seem to use one when they pitch their van. Are they just an advertising tool for the dealer or is it advisable to use one to protect the hitch from the elements?
We use one to keep the electrics dry and keep the hitch clean and dry, ours is just plain green we bought it seperate so no dealer name on ours either.
It stops me getting grease on me brand new camping slacks! Theres nowt worse than turning up on a grassy camping field in the pouring rain, dodging dog turds with the rain seeping in your canvas holiday shoes, unhitching the van and then walking straight into the hitch. When you look down and see that big slick of dirty grease across your knew Beatties cream coloured slacks,well...it makes me think,is it all worth it?

Talking of exposing things, we had a problem with exposure this summer in France - of the dirty old man variety. Added a new dimension to sight seeing for my daughters and I! I'm not sure what reaction he was hoping for but we all just pointed and fell about laughing. (He may have gone away with a bit of a complex....)
