As a newbie myself. Try not to let little drawbacks get at you. We did. and looking back, they all have remedies and solutions. The good things about owning a caravan far outweigh the bad.
Our waterpump conked on us not long ago and my husband was making it a massive problem. We just went to a caravan shop and bought another one for around £30 - not a big problem.
We have enjoyed some lovely holidays in the caravan. There is just this massive sense of freedom and it is so nice making your own cup of tea in your own cups; sleeping on your own pillows; having views through the windows that would cost a bomb in a hotel; breathing lovely fresh air; collapsing in laughter when putting up the awning for the first time. Little things like that.
It's my Wendy House!

We have just got our first caravan a avondale 435 sport 1995. As far as we can tell it is in first class condition no damp or nasty smells. we have just this evening booked our first trip away in a weeks time. Now we are wishing the days away so we can get out in the great outdoors. the tent will have to go in the new year so we can buy more stuff for caravaning. Looking forward to trying this out sorry to go on a bit just excited .

We bought our first caravan a year and a half ago a 1984 abbey 2 berth, and not in bad nick for the princely sum of £157.00!! (ebay) we have used it extensively so much so that we are taking the plunge after just buying a 5 year old Lunar Lexon and we go full timing in just 6 days time!!!
Anyway, cant hang around on here got to go and finish the packing!
Just be careful you dont enjoy yourself too much or you may end up like us!!
Taking our van on our first hols tommorrow, its a 19 year old Abi marauder 540ctl and in very good condition we feel quite attached to it already, and are looking forward to many trips away, enjoy all your trips away.
