I currently have a problem with the 12 volt system on my Pegasus - it works fine when connected to mains power but won't draw power from the battery. The battery's fine as it's powering the mover OK.

But - the factory fit alarm doesn't work unless I connect to the mains. This is a bit worrying if the alarm requires a fully operational leisure battery to work - it's not that difficult to prise open a battery compartment and cut a battery cable if you're trying to steal a caravan.

Now, I'm wondering whether the factory fitted tracker works in this situation, as it is triggered by the alarm going off, and if the alarm doesn't operate, does the tracker intiate?

I'll contact Bailey to confirm, but wondered whether anyone knew any more about this?

From memory, the alarm / tracker will work for 2 to 4 weeks from it's own internal battery

Hi if its a genuine Tracker it will have a battery back-up system, attached, how long that will last depends on the age/condition of the battery at the time.

Does the leisure battery charge when being towed? if so, not too bad as even if the Tracker battery runs flat as soon as its plugged in/hooked up it will recharge. Tracker could then activate it.

Best to get the problem looked at, to give yourself peace of mind.

Thanks - it's a the dealer's now.   What worries me though is that the alarm runs off the leisure battery. My previous alarm had its own battery which kept it going independently of the leisure battery.
