Hi all, we were on our last full day of our hols on tuesday when my OH had a fall..he has broken his knee cap and has got to have operation in the mornin to pin it together,we have green flag premium cover does anyone know if that covers us if the driver is unable to tow..we are about 100miles from home, I cant tow because we have outfit over 3500 and I didnt pass till after 97. Has anyone got any advise please. Di.
Taken from the caravan club website this refers to Mayday (operated by Greenflag) Premium UK:
Premium UK covers you anywhere in the country, including your doorstep. It also feature additional benefits such as Dual Recovery, the provision of a chauffeur if the only driver is ill or injured, and free car hire as an alternative to recovery.
Hope this helps, best of luck with the operation.

Many thanks for your replies..OH hasnt had operation yet because he now has high temp and they suspect he may have chest infection so now he has got to have chest xray and more blood tests before they will operate.I dont want to worry him about things at the moment hes already worried about the op..and hes not quite with it as they giving him morphine every couple hours. I think its Mayday cover we have because we joined at the CC National Rally, I will call tomorrow and find out. Nice to have support from UKCS members. Di.
Thanks for that, we are still here think it will be a while yet as OH is still waiting for operation..was cancelled again today. Hope tomorrow brings better news. thanks for suport. Di.
hope your hubby gets his op soon and recovers well,if we lived near you it wouldnt have been a problem to tow you back to your home ,dont worry though it will all work out either green flag or some kind caravanner will help you out,the caravan community are by and large a great bunch and help each other out regardless, will keep everything crossed for a stress free result ,hugs to the OH for speedy recovery take care and keep your chin up you are not alone
Hi all, things looking better now, OH had his op yesterday afternoon and hes doing fine. Called Green Flag/Mayday today and we are fully covered,we only have to get Doctors note saying OH is unfit to drive and they will send us a chauffeur to take us home. Everybody has been so kind, Margret who's CL we were on at the time of the accident (Little Stubbins B&B & CL Site Garstang) has let us stay and has been very suportive, also a fellow caravanner on site offered to take van if we were stuck. Thanks to everyone. Di.
Well we got home at last,no chauffeur though, Green Flag wanted us to take train home and recovery truck to take car and van,not very good for OH, he had only walked a few steps with crutches before discharge..I had to drive home while they towed van..70 and more on motorway van swaying all over the place..feel complaint coming on. lol. Well I have been thinking about having a go at towing because OH is out of action now for a couple of months and we will be stuck for getting out and about only problem is never towed before, passed my test after 97 and its a 26 foot twin axle, weight over 3500..but oh well, get the L plates out and give it a go.
