I think you'll find that is is standard mirror glass (all of ours are but our van is from 1992), but when you replace it try and get the mirror with the reinforced plastic backing on (as used on wardrobe mirror doors)

Just bought an extra mirror for use outside of the bathroom for our caravan.  Ended up buying a safety mirror made of perspex for a couple of pounds from eBay.  It does a great job and is very light and won't be dangerous if it broke in transit.

They can cut it to any size you want and will even drill holes in it for you to hang it up, or I suppose you could use a no-more-nails type glue.

Apart from distorting your image, scratching easily and blooming over, perspex is just as lethal as glass when it does break... so personally I'd go for glass mirrors every time

We replaced ours through a company called Mirrors Reflect

www.mirrorsreflect.com

We sent them a message and they were able to cut to the exact size we wanted and was very cheap. Give them a try. They are acrylic though, but I've had no issues with distortion or anything and the fixing pads provided haven't budged in over 6 weeks : )

edit - for what its worth, we asked for 397 x 456 and it was very precise

Just been reading your comments on bathroom mirror replacements. I intend to replace our 2016 Lunar Clubman CK bathroom mirror with a glass one but smaller so as to give more clearance between the basin top and the bottom of the mirror. Being so close to the top of the basin it gets wet every time we wash our hands and the silver has started to come off at the bottom of the mirror. But my problem is how to get the old mirror off the wall. I have removed the two screws but it is still firmly in place secured probably by double sided tape. An extra complication is the LED strip lighting around the mirror on a board onto which the mirror is mounted. Any advice as to how to remove the mirror from its mount would be appreciated.
