Took our awning down at the weekend on our seasonal pitch in Malvern. Sorted all the caravan out and bought bedding home to wash, etc.
So sad.
I shall miss Maud for the Winter but look forward to having a full season with her from March 1st again. ![](https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/forum_images/smiley4.gif)

Hi Ali, I thought that sites had to close for at least one month during the year (usually Feb). Has this law changed?

Depends on the agreed planning rules with local authority.

They do for the statics but not the tourers. That keeps the statics holiday homes and not subject to council tax as I understand it.

i would be scared i hadnt drained it down and a pipe burst with the freezing weather we get,and if you left liquids do they not freeze? seems like too much bother to me ,i prefer bunking down for winter,it costs a fortune to heat with gas (static), we tried it once and got a burst pipe,im sure it must cost a fortune to heat the caravan as well, for it sure gets cold at night, but good luck to all you hardy beings who spin it out the whole year,i suppose its lovely on a sunny crisp day

We drained ours down before we left last week and each time we leave it now we will drain it down just to be sure.

We'll be carrying on through the winter. Love being cosy & warm in our van when it's freezing outside. We take the small porch awning for somewhere to leave wet/muddy boots & coats & also take the slow cooker from home so we can go out for long walks & come back to lovely casseroles. I'm really looking forward to it!

So will we, might be the first time we use our porch awning which has been sitting over the caravan axle for ages, never have got round to putting it up. Must remember the slow cooker!
