I want to purchase a caravan cover, mainly to protect my van over the Winter months. I have a little research and understand that the inside should be soft and white, and also that it is breathable. There are some covers for sale in my local camping shop but on calling my local caravan dealership, they do not recommend any others that tailor-made covers. They say that non tailor-made covers can damage the paintwork of the van. Any comments, please?
Call me suspicious if you like but it sounds to me like they are telling you that so you will buy one of their covers (probably at great expense) and not look anywhere else.
I have one that's not tailor-made and it's fine - waterproof and breathable, and it really does protect the caravan. I got it from here - www.caravancoversonline.co.uk - and I've been more than happy with it.

Tigermouse, you may well be right, its what I thought. Thanks for the link, but I really want it by this weekend ( as the weather is supposed to be bright and dry, at least in Kent !). Recommendations cant be beat, but I am now wondering if I should buy from my local shop in person - www.camping-intl.co.uk - so at least I would have it to fit this coming weekend. The prices are similar to your seller, Tigermouse.
recommended by the CC and Bailey. Having said that the van behind us at storage uses a Kampa and his van looks immaculate each spring when he takes it off.

Good idea, John, but the front window is leaking on my van, and I need a cover urgently. Has anyone used the covers from www.camping-intl.co.uk at all ?

Don't think the cover will really help. It doesn't actually keep all the wet out, just the dirt etc. Why don't you put some sealant round the front window even on a temporary basis.
