I have just had my renewel for my caravan insurance which is £344. When I ordered my new 'van (collect December), there was a leaflet in the order confirmation for a firm called Safeguard caravan insurance. They seem to be promoted by dealers, and part of the Swinton group. I got a qoute from them on line and that is £193, a bit of difference. Has any one had any dealings with this company. I would welcome comments good or bad. Thanks in anticipation.
------------- It's not what you take when you leave this world behind, it's what you leave behind when you're gone
We insure our campervan with them
just needed to claim
started off quite efficient gathering information assigning a solicitor etc
van taken to garage
heard nothing and then had to chase them up all the time because nothing was being done.
was told the central computer system that sends details via garage via assessor via insurance company was down not just their computer but nationwide.
no one informed us and we didn't know till we chased it up
they said too many people to phone to inform about backlog
today have heard from garage (not insurance) that they have had go ahead and will be another two weeks
premium was lower and was recommended by the garage we bought the campervan from
suppose not their fault that computers were down nationwide but felt bit miffed they didn't keep us informed. suppose i am cheesed off because we had planned to collect a caravan beginning october which has now been postponed until who knows when and i have missed some weekends in the lovely autumn sunshine we have been having
now i've stopped moaning i suppose i can sum up that premium was cheaper than two other companies i tried.
they gave full NCB to mirror my car insurance
at the time of accident they were easily contacted and solicitor phoned us within an hour of the accident even though it was a saturday
thats all good.
just the blip with the computer system which i would guess happens rarely????
