..........The cleaning is a necessary evil which should imho take up as little time as possible.

I'm afraid I agree with you. Our roof only gets washed occasionally. For the rest I use Onedrywash. [Link is to the car onedrywash, but it's all the same stuff.] With this I can do it a bit at a time without the hastle of water, and it does the van really well - gets rid of black streaks easily. I tend to do it on site, as we have difficulty getting the van home. One day I do the front of the van, the next day I do the off side, the next day I do the rear and the following day the nearside gets done. I do that while my wife washes up and cleans down etc. Seems a good deal to me!! Bailey actually recommend Care-avan, which as far as I can see does a similar job in a similar way. Might try some of this when I've used up the Onedrywash.
If you get the van done by Paintseal then any black streaks can just be wiped off with some white spirit in seconds. Our van has never been polished and looks as good as new.
Just washed with plain water and nothing else!

im sure i read in the handbook that white spirit shouldnt be used on the bodywork...
dunno what harm it would do though ?
Used it for years and never had a problem. It certainly works on the Paintseal finish. Only use a small amount on a rag and it works wonders.

I think Paintseal is a very good produce, but is expensive and I think is only guaranteed for 5 years (may be wrong there - this is from memory). Where it is really good is protecting the van from the ultra violet rays which causes the 'dulling' you often see on older vans. Our last van was done on 'an offer', but it was just that little bit more than we could afford on our present van.
