in other words you want to replace the cable from the van to the car? camp stores do stock cable. just wire it in, the same way you take the cable off. make sure you wire it up in the same way,

At the caravan end it should connect in to some sort of terminal block. If you trace it back then make a note of where each of the different colour connectors go (or take a photo)-it will be easy enough to buy a new length of 7 core cable and fit it.

Hi marshy183, You may find your cable runs from plug right through to fuse box in van, if you cut it just inside of van, strip back all the wires and put them into terminal block, and run cable from plug to terminal block, and if some one decides to cut it again, its a simple matter to replace, you could also make up spare, all ready to connect.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.

When my black cable came loose and trailed, causing it to wear through, I cut the damaged end off, and fed it back up into the gas locker, where I wired it into a new socket, fixed to the gas locker floor. Then I got a new length of cable, put a plug on one end, fitted this to the socket in the gas locker, and fed the other end back out of the locker and under the A frame as the original had been, Then I put a new plug on so it could be connected to the car as normal. This way, if the cable is damaged again, I can easily just access the length from the locker now to repair/ renew it.
Regards,
Al.
