my first post so go easy on me done the tent thing and then a campervan which i have just sold, looking to get a caravan next, thinking of a bailey pageant bordeaux around a few years old or so.
Really need advice on what is best time of year to get a good deal and will trade sellers discount much once winter sets in?
any advice gratefull
Dom
Best time to buy is winter, best time to sell is summer. If you are buying brand new, you don't get much of a discount from any of the dealers, even in winter, but you can get them to throw in lots of extras for the price.
If you are prepared to shop around and check out the vans properly yourself, or with the help of someone who knows what to look for, you will usually get a better deal buying privately, especially at this time of year when people are selling off vans coming up to the end of the season.

With the holiday climate as it is now Caravanning is growing with great force, sometimes you can get a good bargain if someone is elderly and cant caravan no more they just sell cheap, but I find the best time to look is winter as you can smell damp a mile away, also you can buy those water testers for the walls its like a voltage reader cant think of the name of them, always look at the underneath take a peice of plastic incase its raining, and check the A frame for dammage/splitting, never buy a caravan if its been undercover they might be hiding something unless its from a dealer and new, and if you can try and check the roof we bought one woth a crack in it, but didnt find out till it ws to late, hope this helps.
Free ads on here are good and Caravan Club also has free ads for members.Preloved also has free ads with Caravans on. I am advertising my Lunar Lexon SI on here and probably like other private sellers, well under dealer price.(in my case £2000 under lowest dealer price I could find plus mover and Tyrons).
