well i have to say ive had bad holidays before in the past, but that took the biscuit.the caravan was absolutley filthy, the board under one of the seats was broken, there was damp on some of the cushions, the window in the bedroom was draughty as anything and the room freezing at night as a result.then it whistled like hell when the wind was strong.
then there was the broken utensils and the steps that became like a bit of ice with the slightest bit of rain.
then to cap it off the noise from the main complex entertainment until way after midnight was unbearable(boom boom boom boom you get the drift)
i hated it from the moment i arrrived, and was ready to come home on tuesday.i sadly let my OH talking me into staying, but I will never visit a haven site again.
sticking to my trusty fleetwood from now on.
utter waste of a weeks holiday

Haven accommodation can be pretty rough - you have to pay a fortune to get guaranteed good accommodation. The inlaws took my niece to Greenacres and paid well over £700 for 4 days - they came back and said accommodation was great it was like new, we couldn't stop laughing, of course it was like new no one goes to Haven and spends that much!!! I have to say we had good owner accommodation at Easter as a last minute thing & that cost £400.
We do the Haven & such like once a year (as a compromise to the kids) now we have our own caravan we will be going in style & more cheaply but only to those where the caravan pitches aren't on top of the entertainment area such as Hafan y mor
what a shame you didnt get a decent holiday, some folk can charge for statics and get away with setting you up with crap,at least you will have more heart and enjoyment from your own wee caravan ,we always think bigger is better and it isnt,we had a static and yes it had some good points you are stuck in the one place all the time though, statics can have as many problems as a wee tourer and cost a fortune to heat, hopefully you will have loads of good times in your own van
Never mind, it didn't cost a lot, did it? Been there, done that - think mine came cheap with The Sun newspaper vouchers. It wasn't as bad as yours sounds, but was still very cold and draughty at night.

to be honest jax it isnt about the money, and would say that whether it cost £5 or £500 it was the fact the kids were really looking forward to going and even they said that the whole ordeal was awful.
i remember 2 years ago we were at cresswell towers for a week, and i took ill and ended up in the local hospital.nightmare time for me but the kids had a ball down there so for me it was worthwhile.
they didnt enjoy craig tara one bit

Sorry to hear all that, fife-bloke. We're off this Monday (tomorrow), but are taking our own kit, so know what to expect. We're going where we think we might find the best weather for October - going to Dover to watch the ferries and to look at France in the distance - it might make us feel warmer!!
