I just saw some extortionately priced sheets just because they are Bailey and fit the funny mattress!

Hi Flip53.  We find the same thing, and in particular it's a pain trying to put on a bottom sheet.  If you look at any standard fitted bottom sheet, for the most part the elastic bit is only at the corners.  We found some reasonably priced ones from TKMaxx where the elastic goes all the way around the bit that fits underneath.  They are not perfect (because ofthe cut off in the bed) but this sort keeps the sheet fitted fairly tightly and IMHO takes up some of the slack at the cut off corner, so it doesn't look too bad at all - I personally don't think it is worth altering these.

I saw my son's bottom sheet and thought they might be a good idea for the van.  When I went into TKMaxx and asked, the assistant opened several packets for me in order to find which one had elastic all around - she was so helpful.  The best bottom sheets we have ever bought.

You could always use sheet suspenders they clip underneath and hold them tight. They would be particularly good with slip covers and squirmy kids.

Thanks Andi I will get back to you when I have measured up. Or rather got OH to do it!

Hi Caline

Depends on the material you choose really, the material is the bit that is the most expensive. I worked out I could do a complete set of covers (4 bottoms, 4 backs) and curtains for around £200 could be more could be less depending on the material.

Just wanted to say good luck with this, and I think it is a fab idea. I made covers for our previous van, and for our current one we got new cushions and I made covers for them from scratch. Even doing it myself it gets expensive as good hardwearing fabric is not cheap! And it certainly took me plenty of time (but maybe that is because I was making it up as I went along!). The photo of the one you did looks great so I am sure you will get lots of interest.

Thanks Gemma it's lovely to hear from others that have made their own and I don't mind advising people if I can instead of making them, thank you to everyone for all your comments and ideas.

Yes, i think that sounds very reasonable! Also, if you could expand your range to driver and passenger seat covers and door card cover, it would be great, as it always looks nicer when it all matches

The covers look great, we have had new curtains made an covered the seats with throws, however the throws drive us mad an we are always messing with them, covers would be a great idea. We only need them for the front as we havr the back diner as a fixed bed. Fo you need measurements or the actual cushions? Do you have any pictures of material choices also? Many thanks Rob

Hi Andi (Tunstallwood). If you are still making these covers I have a roll of 18 yards of upholstery fabric that you can have free. I bought it to reupholster a motorhome which we have now sold. Assuming you live in Tunstall, I am less than 5 miles away.

Sometimes a little rain must fall before you reach a rainbow.

The work will wait while you show the child the rainbow, but the rainbow won't wait while you finish the work.
