we tend to use our van all year. we live in the NE of Scotland on the Moray coast but find there are sites CL or Club / commercial open all year to visit. We were on a CL site this winter when the temperature for 3 nights went down to minus 10 deg centigrade which caused the water taps on the site to freeze up,managed to get them thawed during the day so we kept one Aquaroll in the van and insulated the one outside of the van, but other wise was fine.
we've just bought a Chausson motor home, and took off in it yesterday afternoon just to Malvern. Had a lovely evening watching the sun set, walked over the crisp frosty grass this morning, and wondered why we'd waited so long to buy one(Iwas 40 this year!!) We've planned a weekend to London before Christmas and a 9 day trip from 27/12. We keep it on the drive, and intend having at least one weekend a month!! luvin it!!!!!
Our first trip this year was Easter & we are away over New Year. We haven't done any caravanning between Oct half term & Easter before, but we have onboard water & Alutech insulation so it would be a waste not to test it!!
Normally we don't use the van from end Oct to March. This year I have had little use of van so far due to back problem. Had Op in Sept and feeling much better. Spennt last weekend at CC Broadway site and had a very nice time. Have also booked to go away between Christmas and New Year. Hope to fit another trip in before Christmas.
Will avoid any very bad weather but other than that will have a go at all year touring.
