We have now packed our caravan away for the winter months. But after doing this it has left me wondering should I have done a little more.
My question is this: Should I leave the handbrake on or off.
Also when I had the van serviced, the guys who done it recommended that I take the battery out and charge it at home every month or so. Do you think this is a good idea. The only bad point I can think of is if I do this the alarm will not work.
What do you think???
Thanks

HI it is said to leave the handbraake off as it stops it streaching the cabel. and wealso tack the battery home to charge it . we have an alarm fitted on ours .but ithe alarm has its own rechargbel battery.
we are lucky to have the van at home linked up to EHU and this comes on via a timer 4 hours a day.this will run our dehumidifier and charge the battery.if in storage take out the battery and charge once a month.or buy a trickle charger.chock wheels and leave the handbrake off as the brakes can freeze on/stick.a full battery will not freeze but a flat battery can.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Handbrake off, and battery in the shed, charge it once a month, the alarm will be fine for 3 months, it should have its own battery, if you have a tracker fitted this should have its own back up battery too.
