Just realised I need to book our van in for it's 1st service (due January). Roughly how much should we expect to pay? Does it vary from dealer to dealer? We have a few Coachman approved places in our area so if the price is likely to vary much I'll ring around for the best deal.
I think we only paid £130 for our last service - I may be wrong though.
i know you can sometimes get a choice of service, were we went to before I seam to remember you could just have the trailer done without gas stuff etc serviced and moisture test there was extra, which i think is essential to cover most warranties.
Ours is £180-£200 including a damp report. Had a great haggle when buying the van and got an extra 50% off the first service included in my deal. No such luck from here on in though.
as its your first service, make sure that who ever does it, will cover the warranty service points, some time you find that dealers who did not supply you with the caravan may not be to keen to do any warrant work for you.
you may find that you can a better price for a service from a mobile service centre, and a lot of these guys are approved by various makers to do there service work.

130 plus vat but then they charge 15 for the mover they are all different no such thing as a standard charge boils down to trust been with ropers at catterick bridge for a number of years not perfect but better than average - they respond when queried which is my ideal world so no complaints here would prefer the ultimate ideal where you know everything will be done first time but realism is important these days
I've spoken to the dealer we bought the van from & it'll be £197 all in including damp test. They've been brilliant since we bought the van so think we'll stick with them.
What they also told me is that with Coachman you can have the service done at any point within 90 days either side of the anniversary (31st Jan in our case) so we could leave it til April if we wanted. The only exceptions are years 3 & 5 where it has to be done on or before the anniversary date.
So I didn't book it in just yet - we'll get it done in March when (hopefully) we won't have to worry about the possibility of severe weather stopping us from getting it there.
Mine was £100 from an independent, did a nice enough job. If you go to your original dealer though you may find its worth paying that bit extra for goodwill in the future.

It does vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. With Bailey it is 6 weeks eitherside of the aniversary of the initial purchase.
How far in advance do you need to book a service with main dealer. Ours isn't due until July but as Im always the type of person to book ahead just wondering how much notice would be needed to get a date to suit.
