Remotes give out different signals, when you 'pair' a remote the control scans for the remote and locks on, there are 32000 signals stored on the control !
So it is highly unlikely the 'spare' will use the same signal, the control will only work with one signal at a time, therefore, to change over you will need to pair the spare and loose the use of the original and visa-versa.
Sorry, I've no idea how the pairing is performed on the latest Truma movers
