the start of our journey the forecast today shows gusts upto 55mph normal wind 30mph, the 1st part is fairly open then going enclosed hedge roads (no motorways) the end of the journey shows gusts upto 40 mph ( only 40 miles away)

Roads will be A & B Roads.

Any adsvice please

 take it steady,watch out for sudden gusts in gaps,keep an eye on the trees and debris fliying around

Trundle along. Maybe don't even get to the 55 max. Slow down if lorries are about to pass whether overtaking or by coming the other way. Hope you're not using the Humber Bridge today!!! If  so then I think a prayer might help

decided not to go as people we store the van said they wouldnt want to tow in the winds down there , and they are experienced farm vehicle towers.

so taking the kids out to lunch instead

wise decision, not worth the risk i say.

the weather is bizarre up here, out of nowhere just had an amazing bolt of lightning with  the loudest thunder ive ever heard.took the power out etc , not a rumble of thunder before or after....weird !!!

very windy as well here, and wet, but the suns out now...

We were booked on Knaresborough CC site but I cancelled on Tuesday after looking at the forecast for Friday, no way am I towing in gusts of 45mph,  brown trousres wouldn't help either.

4humps1 thanks that really made our decision final.

caravaning should be fun and my wife would have been rather scared esp with a 3 year boy and 2 year old girl.

we have a lovely day lunch out dvd on tv.

must say tanner farm were very understanding
