hi we where thinking of getting a caravan cover but dont want one that is to expensive been looking at the riverways one and do you get condensation in the caravan by having one on the caravan who as one and where did you get yours from
I was just about to buy a Riversway one when I saw the very thing on Ebay. Now I had previously been looking on ebay but even second-user awnings were more expensive than the Riversway ones new!
Eventually managed to find a Specialised Accessories awning on Ebay, which fits pretty well (considering it was tailor-made for a different 'van) for £43 inc postage. It wasn't until I went onto the Special Accessories site that I found out they 'started' at £182! So I got quite a bargain there.
It seems great. Good strap system and yes, waterproof and breathable. No condensation, although I'm keeping an eye on that one.
I don't think there's much to choose between any of them - I had a plastic tarp over mine due to water ingress last winter and it took no harm at all!
I think the thing that really makes the difference is the inserts that go into the awning rail before you put it on - these keep it away from the sides of the van, preventing damage by the van to the cover, but also providing a thin gap twixt outside of van and cover as well, so that air can circulate. You can easily do something similar yourself with copper pipe insulation from B&Q.
I'm looking forward to next year now as I know I won't have to do much cleaning before going off somewhere!

We have just got a top cover from Riversway £65, it's called an r.v cover but they are for caravans too.
We are very pleased with it so far, the only thing we did was put some sponge under the two straps that come down over two windows, not that they were going to move anyway but just me being cautious.
Bought the riversway cover last autumn, and its really good. 3 layers so its breathable and keeps the van nice and dry with no condensation, the inner layer is soft so no damage to paintwork or windows. get one you wont regret it.
Got ours off ebay [new] for just under £60 inc postage. Great cover and reasonably easy to fit. Remove the ariel [or just the pointy bit] or make some kind of box for it to avoid tearing the cover.
I don't really want to remove the aerial (status aerial ) but I supose I could wrap it with something. Would there be enough slack in the cover to go over it then?
I could get some of the doughnuts but they seem to fit the omni- directional status. I could always phone purpleline for advice. I take it vents present no problems.
I have taken the plunge and ordered a purpline cover. I just hope it isn't one of these things that ends up in a corner of the garage. We need it because the van sits on our drive under a tree and will end up with a slimy green roof. The shaped doughnuts don't seem to be stocked anywhere as they were expensive and customers improvised with foam etc.
