Indeed, If his post had not been sarcastic trolling I would have pointed out that fixed beds are generally 1.9mtres, less than 6ft 3" long, so unsuitable for tall people unless they are able to sleep with their legs bent without waking up with cramp.
Certainly he is consistent, he has not made a helpful constructive post since 2002.

hey guys keep it friendly. I started this thread to see if we really are getting what we want inside vans. It seems that some agree that the rolls are not that popular.
We have leg rolls on ours and we dont turn them around to sleep on as we have two singles at the back which turn into a double if you want it in the rear lounge of our van but we dont even notice them, perhaps thay are made a bit smaller than they used to be but why do they make them with buttons i find them worse than the leg rolls, perhaps to stop the material sliding around but surely they could be made with just a stitch rather than a great big button that you have to sleep on.
I have tried the memory foam cover but I get too warm with that on so got rid of it.

Bet it's great to be a sage
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

good point, whats everyone do when making the bed? we have cushions material side up leg roll and all.use a thick over lay and a blanket to sleep on.tried it the other way round and although smoother found the bed hard.would go for a bed topper if we somewhere to put it.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.

We use a memory foam topper, its lovely. when not in use we keep it rolled up in the shower cubicle, which we never use.

thanks, can not do this as we use ours full time for the toilet.thinking about a zip up bag to go in the awning may be a way round it.or put it in the boot of the car.

We have 2x 1inch thick memory foam toppers which we separate and fold into thirds then roll up and secure with a bungee cord so they fit under the seats during the day. Have never slept better in the caravan since we got them!
Found the 2inch version too bulky to fit underneath, but this works well.
Our Adria has leg rolls, when we make up the bed the leg rolls go under our pillows and the other right at the bottom of the bed with the seat backs that are flat in the middle, normal seating side up.
------------- Doing as little as possible for as much as possible...
We prefer the leg rolls on the front seats actually because my wife and I always sleep on single beds (only in the caravan) which of course stops you rolling out of bed onto the floor so I think the leg rolls are a safety feature and a good practical design. We sleep in single beds because she has a disability and very often has to get out in the night to use her inhaler or very rarely her portable Nebuliser which is then easier for me to stand in the gangway and reach for it out of the top cupboard. Setting up the double bed each night is less practical for us so the leg rolls play an important roll in our lives. (excuse the pun)!
