Agree. Once your pump is off the taps will not drain the water away. All you do is drain some water in the pipes and then drain the boiler to vent the taps. If you have not done this then you may find some problems with frozen water, pipes or joints expanding etc. If your water system has a filter then, as you have left water in the system, once you have drained the boiler it may be prudent to remove the filter and put a new one in next spring. Water in that filter may have cracked it.

lots of advice here,if yours has the polystyrene jacket it could be a carver 2 and to drain remove the plug outside on the cowl by unscrewing it.it can still freeze up.

When the water system is empty and you fill up with cold water, it always fills the hot water boiler first before any other part of the system. This is why when you start to fill up they advise to open the hot taps first to remove any air locks. When done, open the cold taps second to release any remaining air locks. Having said this, as the hot water boiler is the first fill it will always be the last place where it will finally empty so there should be a drain tap somewhere in the sytem near to the boiler. Most probably as it's a 1994 it would be on the outside of the caravan where the square plastic flue (approx. 8" square) protrudes and it usually says CARVER in the centre. At the bottom left corner there is a nylon slotted screw that you turn aticlockwise to release all water from the system. If this is the case then before you drain the system you are best to connect the gas or 240v mains and slowly heat the water in case there is any frozen ice still contained within the boiler. Whilst heating the water, check for any leaks from the boiler tank and hopefully there won't be. When the water is just warm, switch off the energy source (gas or electric) first then release the drain plug. Open all the onboard hand taps in order to vent the system and drain out all the water from the boiler tank and put the drain plug in a safe place. Remember to screw the drain plug and rubber seal back in before refilling the water system.

Sorry if this is a bit lengthy but it's best if you are knowledgeable first as to how the fresh water system operates. It is then easier to understand how the sytem functions especially for novices to the caravanning world. It also pays to purchase the Haynes Caravan Handbook by John Wickersham as there are quite some useful information on various topics related to caravanning.
