On checking the lights before pulling off on xmas eve I saw a crack in the back panel, I was gutted, it's about six inches, had the front one replaced already because of suspected crack.
We were determined to go to our relatives and then on to here at Chatsworth so have had to gaffa tape over it.
It still has the ingress warranty so shouldn't be a problem getting it done, just an inconvenience.
Wanted to keep the van for a long time because we really like it but think we are going to have to save for an alu-tec one, can't have this worry all the time.

What a shame. Hope you can still enjoy Chatsworth. How old is your Pageant?

Sorry to hear about your problems, if your looking to change to a different manufacturer, i would recomend Coachman, although we are happy with our Lunar, it was weight restrictions rather than quality that made us choose it over the Coachman pedegree and quality that we had owned previously when we returned to caravanning after a 10 yr break

Michael, what did you do about the crack in yours?
We loved our old Abbey but we wanted the fixed bed.
I have heard about problems with ingress in a few different vans so none are fail safe.
We do like our Burgundy layout and having looked at so many at the show, we don't like the end bathroom layouts that they do on a single axle, the bed seems too near the bed.
Just as well we can't afford another new one, will have to make some fancy patches till it,s fixed.
Not letting it spoil our holiday, Chatsworth is lovely, the snow made it all the more magical on our walk today and the waterfall was all frozen with massive icicles hanging down it was like a scene from Narnia.
Michael, what did you do about the crack in yours?
ours is a minor crack at the rear end in the center where the side and rear panel meet and joined by the awning rail and level with the bottom of the rear window.more like crazing.it has been double checked for ingress a few times by various service engineers and no damp found.i coated the crack with the clear varnish you get in a car touch up kit.a few coats of this has kept any water out so far.been like that a few years now.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Sorry if i'm wrong but isnt the Sportstyle you have a Sprite which is a Swift group van. We looked at a Lowdhams special Sprite Sportstyle at the NEC show last year.
Thanks michael, dosen't appear yours is serious, thats good. There should be no dispute with ours when they do see it, you can see the space between it.
Is this just a problem with Baileys do you know, or do other makes suffer with this? and what say's that the new panel won't do the same?
Lets be honest in most fixed bed single axle british built caravans Your never going to be very far from either the cooker, fridge, sink, or even the door !
Know what you mean Al but what I meant was, with ours we have the wardrobe in between, on the new ones if the duvet were to hang over the bed, the oven door when opened would be really close.
I expect it's what you get used to though.
