Cars and caravans are constructed differently. e.g. Metal compared to GRP. Cars are painted differently to caravans. Some paints applied to aluminium can be lifted by polish. That is not the case where you have moulded GRP or acrylic capped ABS where a coat of polish is beneficial.
I know that you will get views on here in favour of using car wash and wax and car polishes etc, but, horses for courses. Know how different parts of the van have been constructed and use materials that have been specially formulated for that material/surface.
My own manual says that under no circumstances should any abrasive substances be used. Some car polishes do contain such substances and certainly household cleaners do.
The likes of Fenwicks/autoglym etc may cost more than the car wash and wax you have sitting on a shelf in the garage, but what will any deterioration in the vans finish cost?
Using the wrong kind of product may affect your warranty.
I would suggest that you look at the Fenwicks or Auto Glym range
