I spent several hours in my garage today trying out the various awnings I have acquired for Holi.

The one I love best is the Bradcot Patio porch awning (apparantly this is very similar to the Portico XL?) but you should have seen my pathetic attempts to put it all together!
It has 3 removeable panels and measures approx 10' long x 8' deep
All I can say is that I was glad I was alone in my garage as I would have given my fellow campers on site the laugh of their lives!

OK, can someone please tell me how to put up an awning correctly.
Are you meant to erect the frame first or do the canvas?
It came with no instructions and so I had to do a lot of guess work (and obviously I wasn't very good at it!!!)
Because my caravan is so small, the awning almost covers her entire body length, even though it is meant to be a porch awning!
I realise this may cause problems with fitting but if it looks like I can erect it in less than an hour and make it a reasonable fit, I may then contact TVS and ask them to alter it properly.

I ended up getting in a real mess, was hot and bothered and dropped the poles on my head more than once.

Please HELP!!!!!!!!

Bradcot Patio porch awning

yes i have oldish one, feel sure its same as.does it have a three quarter zipped door front and back and springs inside the poles? with ours you feed it in the awning rail the beading with no poles used.after this you fit one side using the right (as you look at the van side) corner leg and the roof pole fitted with the rubber boot onto the van as high as it will go and tighten this to take out the slack,so it does not fall on your head.lol.then fit the other side same as.next fit the centre roof pole at the front to join the two sides together.tighten all round after pegging down inside and out.if same the skirt goes outwards.hope this helps.only take ours when there are no grandchildren and bikes.ah forgot the uprights against the caravan one each side, the bent bit at the top pointing out.fitted pipe lagging round mine to prevent paint damage.

I had one of them.

Good awning.  Slide into rail then put bent pole with hook into the movable bit that slides on the second piping strip (does that make sense?) bent bit goes down to the ground and straight bit goes along roof line.

Then put the 3 way bit on the end and through the gap at the corner.

Then put the short bit with the hook on the end that sticks through the gap and put the hool in the eyelet on the outside.  I think these's a link on the Bradcot website with instructions?

If that matches your bits and you need anything else - ask away.

If you happen to be at the right side of North Yorkshire I could pop over. Two heads better than one especially if one is experienced!!!!!
