Hi im new here so be gentle I need some suggestions as to what caravan i need , but i do need fixed bunks and fixed double bed too. I seen burstners and hobby vans but wander if you guys can point any more out to me , as ive searched tinternet and im still scratching my head ,, would prefer twin axle and 4 berth , and nothing older than 2006 , thanks in advance guys
First of all if your going to to be towing a twin axle you going to need a heavy substantial tow car as many big twins weigh in at anywhere between 1700kg to 2000kgs when loaded and are well outside the safe towing capabilities of you average family hatchback .

Thanks , Im a builder and have a transit 350/90 crewcab so i dont think thats an issue . A twin wheel caravan isnt totally necesary as long as i can find one ,, a newish one with fixed bunks and bed , with all the extras (i have placed an ad in the wanted section , but would like some ideas of different manufacturers with the criteria of the above ,,
Thanks for those links tentz,, i have had a look at them , i would rather have a uk caravan as the entry door is not on the pavement side on a european van , i think i may have difficulty finding a uk van to match my criteria
I don't think there is a UK built van that has bunks & a fixed bed. All you can do is look on the UK makers' websites. Theres really only Bailey, Swift & Elddis.
Burstner did import UK spec 'vans with UK side doors until a couple of yrs ago so you might find one.
I have never found a problem with having a continental spec caravan in the UK, the door side certain causes me no problems although it confuses some of the site assistants on CCC sites when they put me in the wrong place due to not being aware the door is on the 'other side'. If you want a van for all seasons with fixed bunks and a lot more you could do worse than looking at the Swedish Cabby caravans. They are years ahead of the UK manufacturers in construction and insulation and while they don't look like the clone caravans that everyone seems to want in the UK they will be at the top of my list when I win the lottery

As far as I'm aware (and I have looked extensively) there isn't a UK manufactured van with both bunks and a fixed bed. We have one with bunks across the back and put the bed at the front up every night. Alternatively you could get a fixed bed with a side dinnette and leave that made up as bunks. They do tend to be smaller bunks that the fixed ones though.
Have you checked the UK campsite classifies, or other sites like Caravan Selecta? I'm sure you would find something to suit you.
I'm currently selling a 5 berth Adria (uk spec) registered in 2008 with wraparound seating at the front which converts into a double & two fixed bunks at the back with dinette on the opposite side. Its not a double axle but it is a long van so it may be worth thinking about other manufacturers.
Good luck in your search!

Hi and thanks for your reply.. i have taken a look at your ad and am taking into consideration different manufacturers too. I need to get this right as i have had vans before and made do with something that doesnt quite fit the bill. Wifey and i have now decided on a rear fixed bunks with seating area by it (so as to make a seperate room for the kids ) seperate showerand L or U seating area at the front , single or twin axle not so important any longer and we want to spend £10k max , obviously the newer the better , with awning etc included . 4/5or 6 berth though the Adria Altea 542UK is a nice van, from what i can gather they are somewhat basic , and we are ideally looking for a little more luxury ,ie mood lighting ,fitted radio/cd onboard water tank seperate shower etc etc.. Thank you very much any way
La Mancelle and Ace-Lebrun, both have bunk beds and a fixed double. They are French makes and I have no idea if they sell them in the UK. But they look really nice. New they run about 13,000 euros.
