I have just bought a microfibre towel reduced at Decathlon. Tried it out at home. It is efficient to use and dries quickly but I think the feel of it will take some getting used to! Takes up much less space though than the terry towelling one better for packing.
I discovered that the cupboards each side of the gas fire get very warm and actually swapped my stuff around last weekend to use them as a sort of "dryer! I put the tea towels and stuff in there and they are dried off next time I need them so seems Phil's idea is a good one too.
The rail in the shower with the blow heater sounds good too.
I had another post on here about recommendations for a fan heater so if I combine all of your ideas I could end up with a good way to heat the caravan without putting the gas on and also a shower cublicle-cum- drier.
Brilliant. We have only had the van since October and been away in it 3 times so we are still learning.
Your ideas are appreciated - thank you all.

We spent a whole year in our caravan in various European countries, not always in warm climates, so we had lots of experience of this problem. We used 2 methods. I realise all vans are different, but ours has the wardrobe above the heater, so when the heater was on we draped one towel over the top of the slightly-open wardrobe door. We also have fixed twin beds with overhead lockers, and we used to peg one towel to the handles of two lockers above the beds. We managed very well with just 2 bath towels each. I used a small microfibre turban-style towel for when I washed my hair.

we use flannels to dry as much as possible first then finish drying with the towel. when you go out leave your heater on low and hang them over the bar of your roof window . if not i just hang them over the shower door . ( not big heavy ones though )
s our vans tiny and the cars not huge were very conserned about weight so only took 2 towles with us one each and a microfiber hair wrap for me from the £1 shop and as said before we flannel dry ten use the hairdryer to dry ourselvs off works great and its very rare we use a towel so no drying of towles needed if you have a hair dryer with you use that saves taking few towles if not dry of infront of a fan heater you dry quicker then a towle lol

It's nice to be important but its more important to be nice
I use a small 700kw oil filled radiater. And leave it on low with the towels placed close by to dry. Also keeps the van nice and cosy for when we get back after a walk with the dog.
Have placed it in the bathroom area before with vent slightly open to let the damp out whilst they are drying.
Chowey007's comment about letting the damp air out is very important in the winter months as a build up leads to large amounts of condensation. I tend to put a small oil filled heater in the washroom with the rooflight directly above it having a couple of hooked pegs hanging from the stays to hang the towels on. It seems to work well as the damp air is warm and therefore rises straight out of the rooflight. When I win the lottery and buy my new van with Alde heated towel rail and underfloor heating I won't have to worry about it

after the swimming baths we put all the towels in the toilet area and turn on the blow air heating and close off other outlets, gets quite warm in there.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Its hollow and very light (prob about a couple of lbs). I mounted a few of wooden discs(painted white) with no nails on wall and then screwed the rail into these. I fed the power into the washroom via a waterproof gland.
Flannel of (a tip from an old victor meldrew episode- funny how the strangest things stick), Micro fibre towel and blown air for us. never fails I han dry me and two kids with one flannel and one microfibre, job a good un. Mr W however had a normal towel which seems to get wet through every time!!!
