As a avid reader of these forums, I planned today to go and move my caravan so the tyres won't rest in the same position and to check the pressures ,bearing in mind my van was brand new last April, and it was last moved at the start of December we left the hand brake on, what a mistake, the brakes had seized on our twin axle, luckily enough my father in law who was once a mechanic was with us ,he used my hammer and mallet and with me edging slightly forward and back they are now free ,I was panicking and my clutch took exception and got a little heated . Now, no handbrake on now, all steadies down, 2 big bricks behind both wheels and 2 wheel clamps on,don't want that to happen again, anyone else had the same happen, having a nose around the storage most handbrakes were on,and pulled right up too-scary

Never leave the handbrake on when in storage for that very reason. Once the van is in position and the corner steadies are down it won't move.

That's ok john, if I can save a fellow caravanner going through what we went through this morning it would all be worth it, as I've got many tips from this site, which has certainly made our hobby more enjoyable and cheaper

We always leave our handbrake off when in storage.
