Hi,

I am thinking of buying the above awning and wondered if there are any alternatives.

We have changed caravans a couple of times, which has also meant changing awnings. This has become quite expensive, so instead we are going to buy one of the lighter weight '390' awnings, which I think should give us enough space all year round.

However we want one which can have an annexe attached to, for the boys to sleep in, therefore not losing any actual awning space to an inner tent.

Having looked I have found the Sunncamp Encore 390, but does anyone know of any others that can have an annexe attached to it?

Thanks, Debbie

Hi Debbie,

I have been looking at the Kampa range of awnings as they seem to get excellent reviews.

The Kampa Fiesta 350 takes an annexe. The link is to the cheapest place I have seen them for sale.

Thanks for that.

I have had a quick look, it seems an excellent website, will investigate the Kampa Fiesta 350 further.

Thanks

Kampa every time. I owned a Sunncamp 390 and it is not a patch on the Kampa 390. The material and Zips are much stronger and the adjustable metal poles are much better for getting a seal down the van than the fibreglass poles on the Sunncamp. We are extremely happy with ours. The Sunncamp went in the bin after 2 seasons, I think you get what you pay for at the end of the day. Shop around though as the price can vary quite a bit. I got mine from Tamworth camping who were the best value at the time.  If you get a chance visit a dealer and feel the difference in quality but remember it is dearer!! We chose the 390 as we preferred the shape and do not require an annexe.

We had a encore 390 and to be quite honest thought it to be a great awning, brilliant design and good value for money. We did however have some problems with quality but nothing to do with the zips which I have to say are heavier duty than other similar awnings. We also had a sunncamp 260 with fibreglass poles and the encore is totally different beast. The rear steel poles and pads provide good sealing against the side of the caravan. We probably had one of the 1st encores and hence I hope that our quality problems were more to do with early production issues rather than anything fundemental. We will be looking to get another encore for this season, if that is an indication of our opinion of the Encore.

I had a suncamp and have now gone to Kampa.  When I bought the Kampa I was told - you only get what you pay for - which seems about right.  No complaints so far.

Happy days
