Anyone who has been is it worth the effort.  We aren't far away and Bailey tell me that their Pegasus II models will be there so I'd love a nosey.  However, OH has decided that the NEC was a bit of a waste of a day in October (although he seemed to having a fine old time on the day).  Is there much to see and do there - I know its smaller than B'ham

We have been for the last couple of years and are going again on Saturday. They usually have plenty of caravans and motor homes to look at, although in previous years we have been disappointed by the lack of accessories and awnings.

They say this year is 40% bigger, with an extra hall, so hopefully it will have improved.

We have always had free tickets, including this year thanks to a very kind person on here. Not sure it is worth the price to pay on the door though.

I've been the last few years its always been a disappointment at Manchester the venue is too small & from experience the 'deals' can usually be matched elsewhere . That said i will probably go tonight 5 - 9pm when its free admittance ! I'm interested in the pegasus 2 i viewed the original at last years show & was amazed at the poor build quality on them ,trims were hanging off internally & externally ! Also want to see if swift have improved the horrid dashboard on their new ranges , i saw them at the lawns show & thought swift had lost the plot ! i reckon unless your haggling for a deal on a new van you'll only spend a couple of hours looking around half the display space is taken up with static's - very nice but not what im interested in !

Back from the show , accessory stands poor not much of interest in the new hall either . Wasn't impressed with swift stand or the pegasus ,the unicorn looked quite good though. Glossop caravans were doing some good deals on coachman caravans tempted with their special edition festival model. Didnt seem too many statics this year & very few motor homes on display . I spent 3 hours there it was pretty quiet & came away with very few freebies

Oh dear, won't be there for long judging by the above! We went last year and we were disappointed but was hoping that it would be better this year as they've increased the space.

Am interested to see the Rimor range of caravans and Adria have come on board this year too!

Went yesterday, and enjoyed it. The show's big enough to have a lot to see, but not too big to be exhausting. Not sure what people expect from the accessory shops - they are well stocked with folding furniture and all the usual bits and pieces. There are plenty of specialist stands for more expensive bits of kit - movers, satellite dishes and that kind of thing.

Also not sure why anyone would be unimpress by the Swift stand - which is massive and has their full range on show. And Campbell's stand, which has the new Bailey Pegasus (which I was very impressed by) is almost as big, and had vans from five other manufacturers as well as the Baileys.

As for motorhomes, there were about 20 different models on show, mostly at the smaller end of the scale. That's not a huge number, but it's not bad. However, I'd agree that it's mainly a caravan show, with some motorhomes added on.

The best thing would have been to go last night, though. The show was open to 9pm with free entry after 6pm!

We're planning on going for a look around tomorrow.  For anyone who's been, were there any tow-bar fitters there?  We've just changed the car & need a detachable tow bar fitting - hoping we might find a good deal at the show?

Easier to look in Yellow Pages and ring round your local fitters for a price. I can't recall anything towbar related at the show, but I wasn't really looking for it.

Well we are just back - we had a pleasant 2½hrs milling around.  Really liked the Pegasus Ancona, not sure its for us but didn't feel cramped as I thought and the lockers are so big Im not sure storage would be too big a problem either.  I think my favourite was the changes to the Swift Challenger triple bunk, liked the furnishings & the bathroom and the front seats are still a good size, only thing is its now 1600kgs!!  Still nothing to sway us from our lovely Lunar, especially as there wasn't much under £16k quite satisfying to walk away still in love with our van and knowing we got such a good deal.

I didn't see any towbar fitters though Vanessa but I may not have noticed.

My biggest gripe was the disgusting behaviour of the Gullivers Girls in the kids area.  My children queued for absolutely ages for a goody bag and a balloon only to be told by the girls that they had given enough balloons away for today and that they were saving the rest for the next day!!  They stood there uninterested as my 3 year old son who was desperate for a balloon sword turned blotchy with tears - OH gave them a calm but stern talking to but in the end we just walked away and left them to it - shan't be bothering with them again!!!

We enjoyed our visit to the show and thought the Swift stand was very good with most models on display, notably the Sterling Eccles Quartz, the caravan of my dreams! There was much more there this year which was good and it was quite busy.

We then went to the Chinese quarter and had lunch, lovely.

Visited the Show this afternoon and it was fairly busy especially Glossop caravan stand. Accessories were very disappointing with no freebies or samples, even had to ask for a carrier bag! Lots of folk queuing for a peep at the American style RV on display. There were a number of 'plastic' holiday homes on show too. Really disappointed with the tourers on the whole, they were all so similar with beige and more beige and nothing that was an imaginative and inspirational design. The only one that impressed me was the Coachman Pastiche because of the spatial en suite in the 4 berth but even that was beige....so last year!

npower told us to find another supplier as our supply was too cheap and the tariff we were on with them has come to the end.the lad at the show did not believe us when we told him of this.
