I Have asked this before regarding the bunk beds in our caravan, but we have bunk beds that fold. I have looked at it and it appears the the bunk bed is actually more secure when up, than folded for towing. The only issue I have is that it could effect stability as bunk in a different position when towing.
So my question really is does anyone tow with folding bunk beds in the up position and any issues?
Hi Rob 12, Dont have bunk beds, but would think that beds in lower possition would only spred the weight over a bigger area,so should not make any difference,if eny, as long as they are secure in the lower position and cant flap about (pot holes, speed bumps), to upset the stability of the van, cant see it being a problem.
------------- If everything runs smoothly then I must have done something wrong
If in Doubt Check it Out.

We have fixed bunks along the length at the back with storage under the lower one. We always make the kids beds prior to leaving anyway so add extra weight i.e. duvet pillows blanket etc at about 5ft high (top bunk) Bunks are quite sturdy also, so cannot see your bunks causing that much effect on stability, providing it is correclty loaded in the first place etrc, etc.
