We have a couple of serviced pitched booked this year, so I wan to make up a water valve for our water carrier, Im using a water jerry can thing that I already have, as we don't have an aqua roll or water hog, so ready made is out...
the valve is ok, get them from the plumbers place down the road.
what Im after, is what type of connections to use to connect the hose, both to the valve and to the tap, surely they are not just hose connectors, if they are can someone guide me to ones that don't leak, all the one I have leak a lot, don't fancy wasting so much water...
cheers, Tim

Hi Tim, I have just made one myself, ready for tomorrow's holiday. I used hozelock fittings as recommended. Will let you know how they fair.

Why bother with expensive food grade hose if you do not drink water from the caravan's supply? We always have a sepeerate container for our drinking water.
BTW wasn't there a web site that showed you how to make to make up the connection with the float?

cheers, that's the type of thing Im making up, but using an old water carrier, I would like to be able to drink the water ideally, I usually do, and try to keep the water system clean, its easier than using seperate bottles for drinking when there's 3 kids floating around...
I dont have a pressurised system in the van, so no container isn't possible without one of those expensive adaptors, it would just pop off all the connections in the van.
cheers Big Brian, will give them a look.

I used a central heating system expansion tank, an ordinary ballcock valve and Hozelock connectors.
It only cost me a few quid to buy and assemble and stood me in good stead for years.
