The heater in the caravan will be designed to operate on 240v (via EHU) or gas and not off a 12v battery. The battery will operate your strip/spot lights, water pumps for the main water system, the cassette toilet and some fridge/cooker ignition systems. The 240v fan master/ultraheat heating system uses 12v’s to operate the fan that circulates the warm air around the caravan. As your fire was not on that would explain why only cold air was being pushed out around the van.
