Hi

There are multiple movers on the market for around £500 however (Towsure does a good one) I would suggest having it fitted by a reputable dealer or mechanic. The price for fitting is around £130 for a single axle type. I would hate you to fit it yourself and it goes wrong...

Happy caravaning....

When you look at Motor Movers being fitted on U-tube, it all looks very simple and straight forward and I am sure it is, "if you have the correct equipment"!!!!!

If you are intending to fit it yourself, please look for all the information you can before you tackle it. Even a qualified motor mover Fitter will struggle to lift the motors into position and hold them there while he bolts them in place.

The fitter that I employed to fit mine, had to borrow my trolley jack to hold the motor in place and I had to hold spacers while he tightened the bolts.

For fitting a motor mover you need the arms of an Octopus but muscled like Popeye.

Go HERE to watch two videos on fitting a motor mover. Then get under your van and sort out what you will need to do the job. Finally get the beer in and "invite" a few friends to a "fit my mover Party".

I fitted my new Powrtouch over three years ago, did`nt need any help or jack, did`nt think it was any problem getting the assembly up in place, yes it was heavy but not that awkward.

Fitted a Powrtouch HD last weekend to our single axle van - relatively straight forward, although as mentioned lifting the motors into places whilst getting the bolts into the right place was a challenge (my 7 year old thought it was great that I needed his help - would have really strugled without the second pair of hands).

Incidentally if you like the look of Powrtouch movers, then it's worth a call to speak to them as they offer a 'Price Match' on their website. I asked if they would price match the Riveria mover sold by Riversway Lesiure to which they agreed - so got Powr Touch mover for £525 delivered.

The reason I got a Fitter in to fit our Mover even although I have a large a well equipped workshop was two fold.

One I do not have the heavy duty electrical tools that are needed to do a proper job on the wire connections
and
Two, having had operations on both knees I cannot kneel down to work under my Folding Camper. Little did I realise that I would have to get under it anyway, just to help him and the only way I could do that was to lie flat out on the floor.

When I see the specialised Jacks that other types of motor fitters have to accommodate the various vehicle parts that require lifting, I am surprised that those that sell motor movers do not have a Hire System in place to rent out the necessary equipment to allow the home fitter to do the job properly.

Even the equipment that they supply their own fitters with is minimal.
