We have a new to us Lunar Meteor 1993 model, and have also bought a new shower head with a trigger on/off switch from Towshure.

We used the shower when we were away last week, but there was a problem - the shower intermitently ran hot then cold, and we were not able to get it to mix to a warm temperature.

Does anyone have any idea why this happened, and what we can do to rectify it?

The only thing I could suggest is that you used all the hot water from your storage tank.  Our tank only holds 10 ltrs, so it doesn't last long when having a shower.

if you have an on off head for the shower the temperature mix will need to be sorted before you turn the head off before you shower.as john says it will not last long,the heater only gets to 70 and as you use the hot the cold water from the pump is flooding in behind.if you need a lot both gas and electric can be used at the same time.gas is quicker.

There was plenty of hot water in the tank, and we were running both the gas and electric heaters. The water temperature during the shower would alternate between hot and cold, and back again. And we did try to set the temperature before we started!

Very strange!

Could it be something to do with the water pressure coming through the pump? I vaguely remember someone else having this problem and it was something to do with the 12v pump. Just thought I'd mention it.

It's some time since I posted this, and we couldn't find out what was wrong.

However, the 12v water pump gave up a couple of weeks ago, and we replaced it, and the problem is now sorted!
