HI All 

We are just in the process of buying our first touring caravan, we are only looking for a small 2 berth to start with. We want a respectable but not too expensive until we are convinced that this is for us.

Please can anyone give me advice on what questions to ask when viewing and what equipment i will need to get me started. I have a god idea but I dont want to forget anything.

in the meantime

check all corners for sponginess under beds etc due to damp get a damp meter if poss thats your main worry the rest is preference,

aquaroll and water pump

waste master

hook up lead

ask to see heating etc working and electrics explained

check floor for sponginess

if walls are bowing away from wardrobe do not buy

we had a 400 ex dog shed and did her up had fab time but she wasa damp mess so we learned by experience cost us too much in repair.

the abi marauder seem cheap and popular check window seals too

always lock windows and put down roof vent release brake and check indicators all mistakes we made window flew open on m65

oh and tyres just spend less on van and get new for 100 quid DO NOT TRUST  we had a blowout very scary on m6 if people leave van on them and not the steadies wheel goes flat on one side then BANG!!

DONT BE PUT OFF THOUGH IT IS IS LOADS OF FUN we have never looked back had so many fab times and memories
