we had L shaped seating in a motorhome, and I seem to remember that the bed was a bit fiddly to make up and that the end cushion kept moving outwards so you sunk down in the middle. It really depends on the manufacturer I think. So go to your dealer or seller and get them to make the bed up for you to see if you like it

We were wondering exactly the same thing recently but decided against it for the following reasons. There's no central chest so you have to have the table up all the time. When reclining watching the TV we reckoned someone would have their feet in someones face !!! The bed works out smaller as the seats aren't so long usually. We reckoned they are really good for people with dogs - a space for them to lie down or babies - space for the cot !! Not that I know anything about either and I'm sure someone with an L shape will come along with all the plus points !
We had an L shaped lounge but found when you were sitting at the front of the van you kept bumping the back of your head on the window.....personally prefer the side seating arrangement.
I must agree that the 'L' shaped lounge looks really attractive but when you start to weigh up the pro's and con's they seem to have a few disadvantages. Like as previously mentioned, you lose the centre drawers and if you use the top for a table as well like we often do then it's another loss and as mentioned previously you have to have the main table up all the time. If you look around at the top cupboards you will notice that there are usually less depending on the manufacturer and those that do have a cupboard above the long window and above the front windows you are prone to banging your head much of the time. Due to the design of the construction of the double bed it won't be a strong as having seats either side so we opposed to having an 'L' shaped lounge due to the various disadvantages. If you like inviting guests round then maybe it would be to some advantage but you have a caravan to suit you your own everyday needs not just as a show piece for others to enjoy. These are my own personal views why I dislike them and no intention to discourage anyone from buying one but after all said and done some people may like them but I'm afraid it's not practical for us. It's a bit like Marmite.....love it or hate it!
We love our L shaped lounge, but it does have its disadvantages. We swapped our clunky wooden table for a lightweight Gelert one, which can also be taken outside. Our van also has twin single beds which are perfect for lounging or afternoon naps, as well as for sleeping in of course, so we don't often make up the L shape to a double bed, but is quite easy when we do.
We too have looked longingly at the L shaped lounges because it does make the 'lounge' area look really spacious. However we decided against one for the reasons listed above, loss of the centre chest and fold out table and also when made up the bed looked smaller.
One thing that always struck me too - if you have the usual oblong shaped caravan table, it isnt possible for four people to sit round it with L shaped seating, unless Im missing something? Unless three of you are VERY cosy on the long side and one at the end.
We've deliberately shied away from L shaped seating as there are nights when we prefer to use the front benches as singles rather than make the bed up.
We altered ours to an L shape in order to give more leg room. With a 6ft 2in son with rather long legs, there just wasn't the room with the seats opposite one another. Now that there is just OH and myself we like the feeling of space. If lounging to watch t.v. we lie with our heads together. On the odd occassion that it has to be made into a double bed it is not a problem, but it is only used by the grandchildren.
We have the L shaped lounge in the Elddis 302, that's what gives it the tardis like space. Find it great for just the two of us when we are lounging as we can both cuddle up with our feet up when watching the TV
Beds a doddle to make, but I do agree with the lack of fixed table for your cuppa.
we find our L shaped lounge is great as we have more room to move about when Barney our golden retreiver flops down, we don't often use the front bed but when we do its quite simple to make, everybody to their own
we found that having to make up the double bed on overnighters was a pain but ours was a 2 berth & we had no other choice but to make up the bouble bed .Also found that because the bed was made up of dfferent odd shaped cushions it was uncomfortable
We sold our van after 6 months with the L shaped seating. It is very uncomfortable as you cannot stretch out easily. Making the bed up is a real effort and you have to keep putting the table away as it is always in the way.
If you look at the new layouts there are now very few, if any, manufacturers who have continued the design. They were not popular,

That's one of my pet hates too ! I like having the TV on the central chest and leaning up against the cupboards with a cushion. Then you can be nosy and see what's going on outside whilst pretending to watch the TV ! It has to be parallel seating for me every time.
