We do, though, empty the on board water tank and heater water straight onto the pitch which is unavoidable when the valves are opened at the end of a trip.
I know this is clean but have noticed there can be a fair amount which can water log it a bit. Can I avoid this then if it is not good "etiquette"
I would suggest 2 things you could do. First, try to estimate your water requirements more accurately so that you do not have a large amount left in your on-board tank.
And secondly, as said above, you should not dump hot water onto grass as it kills it. Turn off the heating an appropriate length of time before you leave and let it cool while you pack up.
You could then empty your tanks by pumping through into your waste container and disposing of it in your usual manner. But do make sure it is cool first.
Is it really feasible to estimate the water you would need in your on-board tank? I'm sure mine fills itself up to the brim when you first connect everything up, then keeps itself topped up whenever you use hot water. So whatever you do, you're always left with a full hot tank, unless you disconect the aqua-roll then, say, have an excruciatingly hot shower! Help me out here, I guess I'm missing something...

Where I store and pitch there is only the chemical toilet disposal point. The owner asks us to tip grey waste over the trees and hedges. I must admit I don't get the thinking behind it. Is it just because they have no special facilities? It doesn't seem that hygienic to me as I know mine has soap, cleaning stuff, soap. Because he allows it I often tip my washing up bowl straight onto the grass to save it (a) going down the pipes if there are any small bits of (unavoidable) food and (b) saves emptying the waste container as frequently as it can become quite heavy.
Wonder what the dreaded Health and Safety thinking is on tipping what amounts to dirty water over areas where people may sit?
Could be to kill the green fly and other bugs they dont like soapy water, my dad always empted the soapy water over our roses.

Yes, you missed the bit where it says.... "on board water tank AND heater water"....indicating that they have an on-board cold water tank (as we also have), and of course a water heater tank.
Unless you have a fairly new or very expensive van, your on-board cold water tank will not auto-fill when connected, you have to connect it to your Aquaroll and pump the water in by correctly setting the valves or switches.
Most on-board tanks hold about the same as an Aquaroll, which also holds about the same as a Wastemaster, so it is pretty easy to keep track of the water. When the Wastemaster is full, the Aquaroll or tank will be empty.
On-board tanks are also usually fitted with a level gauge, so you can see how much is in them.
So you can figure out, when nearing departure time, whether you need to fill more water or not.
The hot water tank is a different matter, that obviously refills as you use it. What I was suggesting was that the heating of the water could be switched off a suitable length of time before leaving, allowing the water to cool before being dumped.
