I recently bought an Avonmore Eagle and have found out that , due to the lower roof line, your standard Porch awning wont fit!! Surely someboby out there must have
had this situation, and maybe could help. We are touring this summer in Europe and would find our full awning a bit of a trial.
Very interested in any bright ideas!!
Regards to all,

That's the answer as 'woman' has said. Driving forward or reversing up on ramps will give the extra height you need.

I was advised of a company in Bristol that will put a triangular piece onto awnings, to make the longer to fit longer vans. The way it was described was that the additiona bits added was a long triangle at either end of the roof section,to run the width of the awning from the van to the outer edge. This has the effect of making the awning slightly longer, so those wishing not to have to purchase another awning if they get a slightly bigger van wouldn't have to.
I was wondering if the opposite was also possible. Take a slither off of this part of the awning.
The company concerned charged around £100 to extend, so not sure if this would price this out as a choice.
Also, is this a Canvas conventional awning? If not a canvas awning, please ignore the above. Lol.

The technique Tony B52 talks about is the common way to change the size of a full awning but not for porches as they don't normally have the 'triangle' pieces. I think you would have to take off all round just above the mud wall to lower the hight of a porch awning.

I have done exactly that in the past. have a very good firm just off J7 of M11 that makes tarps, awnings, lorry curtain sides, etc etc. small firm that can do almost anything and at times within a few hours of it being dropped off. I drop off and collect the same day at times. they also can make sun sails etc in almost any colour to your shape as req. cant be the only firm but its a case of finding them.

How about one of these, Khyam ridgidome Motorhome annexe.
You can attache it, or not as it is a free standing tent in it's own right. with the annexe sides rolled in and the doors and windows open you have a passable gazebo. Also a two berth inner tent available should you need one. Quick erect system. Spot on for touring

What is the awning rail height of your caravan?
I have a tiny little 2 berth van and struggled to find a suitable awning - I now have 3 and none of them are quite right!!
In the end, as a temporary measure to give me some shade/protection, I got one of these: http://www.homesteadcaravans.co.uk/outdoor-revolution-easi-canopi/

have a look for a Sunncamp Galaxy porch awning. Where they were made a year or so ago at the factory they made them to the wrong size and will fit from (dont quote me) 210cm - 235cm
we sold them a while ago and they went really well.
