Hubby and I are giving up caravanning and need to sell our lovely small 4 berth Hobby caravan. How do I find out how much to sell for? We are not greedy but I don't want to be silly with the price either. I have tried looking at others but can't seem to establish a sense of logic behind the pricing. Ours is 2004 Excellent Easy Model and has fixed bed. It includes a full Fiamma awning and has air con (not that we have needed this in the UK!), it also has a mover fitted. Any suggestions?
Put it on Ebay, full description, good clear set of 12 photos, reasonable start price & a reserve, don't bother with buy it now. Be fully accessable on phone during auction & encourage viewing. Best time of yr to sell at the moment.

It is trying to decide what is a reasonable start price and how much reserve that is giving me a headache. Why would you not bother with buy it now? Much appreciate your advice.
I would personally put it up for a Classified advert on Ebay, it lasts a month and costs under £20 depending on what you select.
that way also you can put a numebr on the advert for people to be able to contact you.
It means that you don;t run the risk of someone "winning" the auction and turning up and trying to haggle the price over something you didn't mention (people will find something!)
I bought mine recently as a classified advert and have sold my motorbikes and cars through it too.

Why would you not bother with buy it now?
Because if the buy it now is clicked then your listing is over, if(as sometimes happens)buyer does not make contact then you have to relist. If you have no buy it now, plenty will still message you asking for a 'buy it now' price & if you want you can give them a price & tell them if they want to bring the cash round they can take it away(this avoids some of the ebay fees as you just cancel listing). But as the auction is still running you ain't so bothered if they don't turn up.
Good luck with sale but expect to be messed around & expect daft offers, all part of the fun, I'm afraid.
As for price, Hobbies normally sell quite well, just look at prices of similar UK built caravans & price about there. Is your 'van cris reg? If not buyer will need firm evidence that 'van is yours to sell. Having no cris reg on a late model imported 'van will tend to depress price.
Thanks for advice and help will look into it all and decide what to do.
The caravan is cris registered (forgot we had done that so thanks for reminding me).
Might just take to a dealer and cut my losses - I am not very good at this haggling when it comes to selling - I just crumble at the first hurdle. Now if I am buying that's a different matter!
I've just put mine on Ebay as a classified ad - 28 days for about £14.99.
The problem with buy it now, which I think some people don't realise, is that, if your buy it now price is higher than your starting price, if someone bids at the starting price, the buy it now disappears and you could end up getting less.
