been trying to get some gas for a week or so, and want a calorlite bottle, however my local Go, and another local retailer have said they are in short supply at the moment.
now if it was only one place telling me, I would be skeptical, but 2???
anyone had any problems getting a new cylinder recently?? I have a coupld of weeks left, and if neccessary I will get another steel, would just like to save a bit of weight though...
I don't think that they will exchange a calorlite now for a standard steel bottle but if any outlet is out of stock I think that it should be considered a fair exchange in my view.

This makes sense now calor have stopped you having a calor light straight swap with your steel one they make an extra charge for that privaledge. So because of thier success they are profiteering

no problem with the swap, asked on saturday whan I was in Go, no problem swapping a steel propane 6Kg or butane 7kg, they wont swap other sizes straight to calorlite, its just that they don't have/can't get them in stock.
in fact looking at it, strictly speaking you can oly exchange 6 propane, 7kg butane or calorlite between each other, and then the rest of the bottles between types/sizes
Although I have never had a problem swapping 19/13kgs for 6s etc, might just be aware of it now though...

no charge like for like size at a calor sales.the last calorlite i got was October and it was £22 at a club site.they will only change calor lite for calor light at club sites .if buy any other than calor the club site will not change them.imho calorlite has been in short supply from day one.see
I have the smaller ones 3.5kg i think they are, so i suppose to get a calorlite i will have to start again from scratch and pay another bottle deposit, leving me with a bit more junk in the old ones cluttering up my garage!

Calor are in short supply at the minute, they won't give us any brand new ones so what were having to do is get our customers to leave their lite bottles with us and put it on the next order with calor it's crazy
like I say, I have never had a problem with swapping the big to the 6Kgs, I use a space heater during the winter so need the big ones, but swap them to the 6Kgs for the summer, I just want to change one of my 6Kgs for a light (I have 3 bottles, usually use 2 19Kgs in the winter)
The price of a refili on a steel bottle is over the top for at £19.99 however the calor lite comes in at nearly £24 for the same size refill. I think we will stick with the steel bottles or maybe consider BP Lite!
