We use a Pyramid Corsican Ultra Awning.  It is a larger porch awning that takes the bedroom / tall annexes so you can extend the awning if you need

Pyramid do special alutech bracket pads to counter the resessed awning rail.

We have just purchased an Isabella Awning not used it yet.  Did read in Caravan Magazine that there was a problem with the Alu Tech Body awning rail not being able to get the awning through as a build up of silicone.  We have tried with just the awning skirt and not had a problem - did have to clean out some build up of silcone.  Hoping the awning will go up ok when we go out on next trip. As anyone else come across this problem.  Ours is the Unicorn 2011 van so hoping Bailey have rectified this.

I'd be concerned about the very tight 90 degree corner at the back of the van and getting a full size awning around it.

yes that is where the problem is. we have one of those strips to stop water running down side of van and that was awkward on first use but ok now.

i believe theres an issue with the tall front bumper fouling the awning rail at the bottom as well ?

no hassle with the porch , doesnt foul any windows and no tight turns to tug it round

We have aSunnicamp prch (small) which goes on no problem. For longer spells we have a Dorema full awning.

This was extended because the Peggy needs next size up than previous Pageant.(Cheaper than a new awning!)

It goes on fine, you just need to carefully work it around the 90 degree bit! I stand on the step and do that while my wife pushes/pulls the canvas! After first time it has been ok!

It is high and Iam over 6 foot!

Make sure there is no mastic in the corner moulding. I cleanes ours out with a peice of wood.

Silicon spray in the rail might help.

The awning just pulls down past the bumper bit. It is not perfect but pegging the bottom seems to work.Bit of a gap.

hi Chinsters

It was the tight angle at back of van which is concerning us.  But have decided to have a go at home first before our first trip out with it -  if not go back to dealers and have the problem rectified.

Thankyou for your replies.

It is the 90 degree at the rear that has been concerning me but it seems that its not really too much of a problem.

Hi
We have a 2010 Bailey Olympus, and we use a full size awning, a Quest Bleinham and we havent had any problems at all with the fitting, to tell you the truth it was easier then what my parents, Bailey Champayne was with there Isabella awning.

I am sure you will not have any problems with it.

Melissa

Hi we have the Quest Sandringham (Full) and Kensington (Porch) and both are very easy to fit to our Peg 534, the sharp right angle at the back is no problem at all and the porch fits nicely without lying on the windows.

We use an Isabella Magnum Porch, its a good size and flills the area between the awing rail at the rear and window fully making most use of the space available.  To answer the other question below later awnings will fit the rail as the beading diameter has been reduced, earlier awnings require a bead change, our Isabella Ambassader did.

We didnt have much trouble fitting the Isabella Moonlight onto our Bailey Seville.

We fed it in from front of van and it got round the angle quite well considering it was the first time we had used it.

We have a Dorema Montana super lux and a Dorema sun canopy, both fit no problems.  Tight corner no problem either.
