Do any of you have an Eriba?

We're looking at a Troll and wondered what people thought of their Eriba's?

What's the quality like? Durability, lack of battery, size, practicality etc. towing, storage, maintainence

Any advice would be great!

I have a Duo/T which is an older 320 GT. Its the ideal caravan and the smallest Eriba to have a toilet.Easy to tow, lasts for ever, and holds it's price well.

What more can I say ,it's the best.

I used to have one, an 80s Pan. Lovely caravans, well made & tow beautifully because of their shape. Downside is that you keep whacking your head inside if you are tall.

Very friendly caravan, good club 'scene' with organized meetings both here & on the continent, ok if you can live with lack of space inside. Certainly for less money you can buy a much more useable & practical caravan.

If you are looking at secondhand check carefully underneath looking at square tube chassis members, if rust has got into these & there are rotten bits leave well alone as it is major repair. Otherwise they should last almost a lifetime, damp is rarely a problem due to their rigid structure, interior furniture is of high quailty.

Many older Eribas are in lovely condition tho as with their low height they are often garaged over winter. Many have been brought in secondhand from continent & don't have batteries as standard but any caravan electrician can install one. They have Al-Ko chassis & any caravan workshop can service them.

If you buy a fairly new one that still has 6yr damp warranty running. Eriba UK at Letchslade will only do warranty work on 'vans supplied by them not on 'vans bought over from continent. ie 'grey imports'.

If you buy a newish grey import(several UK dealers sell them)be aware that if you want to keep 6yr damp warranty going you will have to get caravan serviced in the country it was sold new in. Usually Germany/Holland/Belguim. Unless of course UK selling dealer is prepared to honour warranty themselves.

It is often mistakenly believed that caravan warranties are valid Europe wide same as cars by EU directive. This is not the case.

Last Friday a couple arrived here on my winter site with one of the tiny versions.

It had no heater, loo or shower. The lady was uncomfortable without basic facilities and wanted to go home by Sunday!

I think owning an Eriba Puck is more of a(cheaper) alternative to a VW campervan than owning a larger caravan.

Hi, saw 4 older Eriba Puck's last season at Invermoriton site on the shore of Loch Ness, They all were towed by Brittish (Original) Mini's, Managed to get a look at one, and they were well thought out for storage, dont think any space was wasted inside.looked very solid for thier age.
