Is there a folding caravan with hard sides not canvas. We have an old caravan now but would appreciate advice on one that is not too hard to pull up the sides for a 2 berth f.c It would be the only camper that would be allowed in our back garden so no storage fees.I know Bob wants one to get it on home ground.
Would like aprox price. Must fold down like a trailer tent as it cannot be too high down. But must get away from putting pegs into the ground as cannot do it. Do not need luxury. Somewhere with 2 single beds, somewhere to sit, eat.I know I have asked before but he is getting a bit more into saying it more often & I know him well.
Seen a couple of Esterels on eBay recently, just type in folding caravan on the search and you'll get an idea, also try Preloved we got our Esterel off there a couple of years ago although we're now onto a full caravan it was a great little thing with gas struts at the corners to help lift the roof and walls. Up in minutes.

Jeff, Bob is still on about getting one to bring it home becasue of the hassle as the c.van is at our sons and we could do with it here. Not sure about eBay as that is where we got the c.van. What we have spent on it can go with us onto the f.c But it is the one above he wants hard all round. Is there any pics of the inside of this one anywhere? We found our ISA for the whole year gave us £1.27p interest so stuff it. it is the last thing we will buy but I dont want to make the same mistake again.Where did you see the one above.Ta
The larger folding caravans take up much the same space as a normal small caravan. These don't take up much room when folded. This is probably more what you are looking for tho. It folds down to the height of a trailer but takes up the space of a caravan.
Checked on eBay. He likes the Rapido above. But he wants to get to actually see it all this time. Before, as I have said we are not jumping out of the fryin gpan inot the fire. We have this old Abi. It needs to be taken into consideration to part exchange so it looks like a dealer. Unless we see a really good buy whilst on holiday. But the mover, stabiliser hitchlock comes with us.That would be too much to loose, just after getting it.
So now we have to find the sites to look at them near; Hereford,Oswestry,Conkers,West Runton,Kessingland & Hertford. Then we can see them whilst on holiday and inspect at leisure.
Thank you all of you.
If you know of any dealers or such . around these places please let me get them into my little black book ready.
Try here, they have a range of used folding caravans & they are near Ringwood in the New Forest, not too far from you in Surrey. We bought our pop-top caravan from them.

My friends bought an immaculate Esterel last year for about £2k the ones on Ebay at the mo are pretty elderly. Theirs is really nice and quite modern looking inside.
I will keeo my eyes open as we can wait we have an old van at the moment so hopefully we will off on May 8th after the man that is coming to finish it off on the 5th May gets it all done as its for a whole day he is coming. Maybe even at the end of the summer as sometimes people buy things wthout really testing whether they like camping or not.So they sell off. You never know do you?
I used to own an Esterel and found it very good, if a bit basic. Most models lack toliet/showers although I understand that Gobur do have models which include a toilet

That does not worry me as I cannot use them as I am 98% wheelchair bound. The other 2% on crutches and not for any length of time. Certainly not for showers, I use disabled units on site.C.C&Club sites. I find the majority are okay for me.The toilet, we have an old porta potti that has a plinth underneath to make it higher.
The annex awning we have is a very cheap one but it not only keeps my wheelchair inside plus Bob's chair but we cook outside also if possible. The toilet goes fine into it if it is necessary.
I am not concerned over anything of luxury as such. I class disabled toilets and washing up facilities are just fine. You get to chat to people there, (not in the disabled toilet I may say).
Was watching a house martins nest last year, From eggs-fledging it was just under the eaves of the washing up place on Hereford CC&C site.Everyone was very careful to disturb them. The site mgrs was forever watchful over their tiny charges.
If you fancy a trip to Norfolk Gobur have a lot on display including quite a few secondhand ones. The secondhand ones will probably be a bit more expensive than buying something off ebay but they will have been refurbished by Gobur and possibly come with some sort of warranty. They're also still around to do any sort of repairs needed in the future. If you have a tight squeeze to get it into your garden they do slimline models.
