We love our remoska and have had many delicious meals from it but on a recent weekend away in the van the electics overloaded - the wardens happily came to put us back on but when we mentioned we were using the remoska they said they had come across this problem before as remoskas sometime cause a leakage!!

Thinking back to Nov weekend away the same happend and again we were using the remoska.  We think it may be when liquids turn to steam - ? We are now a bit iffy about taking it away with us again.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so is there any 'cure'?

The Remoska has been around since before the Second World War, surviving 40 years of nationalisation until being rescued in 1990 by two Czechs, who scraped together all they had to buy the machinery. Each Remoska is individually made and tested by skilled workers in a small Czech factory; there’s no production line.

The stainless steel lid, which houses the element, does all the work, controlling the venting of steam developed during cooking. You can see what's going on through the glass window and you'll be impressed by how clean it is in use, with virtually no cooking smells either. The pan is coated with Teflon® Classic for easy release. Being so compact, it is frequently packed up and taken anywhere there's a 240V electricity supply, which makes it just the thing when cooking away from home. Pans are dishwasher safe.

 I use one in the caravan the standard model no problems, i also use the Grand model in the house, had the elment go in this one and it Tripped the main electrics, replaced by Lakeland, if your Remoska was leaking it would trip the main electrics as soon you turned it on, if the element does go there is a firm in Garstang who will fit a new element, but if you have a problem you are better off tel Lakeland,

The Remoska has a lifetime guarrantee so all you need to do is phone Lakeland who will send you a new one and then send someone to collect the old one.

We have done this twice over the last 2 years, once because it kept tripping the house electrics and another time when the lid became a green colour.

Many thanks for all your responses.  Taking onboard your comments I phoned Lakeland this afternoon who without any questions are sending me a new one!  Result!

The final part of the Remoska story.

After contacting Lakeland on Wed afternoon - the courier came to pick the faulty one one up the following afternoon (Thurs) from my work and called today (Fri) with the new one.  Well done Lakeland!
