Well it's the start of the busy caravanning season and living here in Cornwall this is even more evident by the amount of vans already travelling into the County.
Yesterday, family and I had a dental appointment in Truro and to get there, we have to travel along a stretch of the A30. Every couple of mins a caravan would pass on the opposite carriageway....... some looking great........ some with the back of the car so heavily laden, front of van pointing downwards, hitch almost nearly touching the floor. I just don't know how they can drive (especially with the differing weather conditions and steep parts of A30) without the van being really unstable.
Maybe they don't have a checklist (including noseweight) before departure and just open up the boot of the car and door of the van and push everything in.... or maybe they just don't realise what a chance they are taking with their own personal safety and that of other road users.
