It HAD a boat roof ?  I don't quite understand. Do you mean it had a boat roof but now it has a flat roof or is it a spelling mistake?

Try something like a Kampa Fiesta.(second picture in my gallery) Its a great lightweight nylon awning with good head height. With practice the awning goes up in about 15 mins and at 350cm wide its still spacious but not as big and heavy as a full awning. We tend to use our Fiesta when we are away for 2 or 3 days and our full awning for up to a week or more.

Okay, I have had a look at your caravan. The reason why I asked this question is because some caravans that have a boat roof also have an angle that goes right from the back to the front very much like some of the older Coachman caravans. If they are designed like this then a porch awning doesn't fit that well because you get a little slack on the left hand side of the awning side due to the contour of the roof. However, as yours is straight across above the doorway then a porch awning should be fine. There are various porch awnings on the market but the Bradcot 'Portico' porch awning seems to be a favourable one amongst caravanners. Isabella is a very good brand but they can be rather expensive even second hand. I have never used a porch awning myself due to various reasons but I can well understand why you want to downsize regarding the length of your caravan. Maybe my answer didn't answer you question but hope the information was helpful.

Caravans with a flat roof measure higher from the ground to the awning rail whereas the ones with a boat roof measure slightly less due to the highest point being in the centre of the caravan. My advice is to measure (on flat ground) the distance from ground to awning rail otherwise if you buy a porch awning which fits perfectly on a caravan with a flat roof, you may end up having to put your caravan on ramps to obtain that little extra height to take up the slack.
